The Temple of Heaven is a complex of imperial religious buildings from the Ming Dynasty. The complex covers 270 acres of parkland and consists of three main sections with beautiful Chinese architecture. 天坛 is an UNESCO World Heritage Site. Tickets are required for entry.
Summer Palace 颐和园
The Summer Palace was an imperial garden during the Qing Dynasty and consists of a vast ensemble of lakes, gardens and palaces across 716 acres. It was inspired by the gardens of Southern China and contains over 3,000 Chinese ancient buildings that house a collection of over 40,000 historical relics from various dynasties. Tickets are required for entry.
Tiananmen Square 天安门

The famous square outside of the Forbidden City. There is a daily flag raising ceremony at sunrise. Tickets are required for entry.

National Museum of China 中国国家博物馆
The National Museum of China is located on the eastern side of Tiananmen Square. It boasts a collection of more than 1.4 million items, and 48 exhibition halls. It is the museum with the largest single building area in the world and the museum with the richest collection of Chinese cultural relics. Tickets required for entry.
